TOM RIDDLE

            In HARRY POTTER AND THE CHAMBER OF SECRETS, we were introduced to Tom Riddle, a Head Boy at Hogwarts in 1943. Tom Riddle seems like a very responsible person, being a Head Boy at Hogwarts but he turned out to be the young Voldermort.  Below, I have put together a study of his costume and planned to try to get it done one of these days.

[A] THE SCHOOL ROBE & HOUSE PATCH

The SCHOOL ROBE worn by students in the 1940s seems to be similar in style to those worn in HARRY POTTER AND THE SORCERER'S STONE and HARRY POTTER AND THE CHAMBERS OF SECRETS:
A plain Black School Robe with a Graduation-like or Oval Collar attached by 3 pleats at the collar.

This Robe may also have Hidden Side Pockets and for Tom Riddle, length is about 2" above the top of his ankle.
 

Unlike in later years (1970-1990s), all the students wore the same PATCH on their school Robe (and probably School Cloak), the Hogwarts Patch.

This patch is a cut-out version of the Hogwarts Shield.

[B] SHIRT, SWEATER, COAT & PANTS

Students wore a WHITE SHIRT, similar to those worn in the first 2 movies.

As for the SWEATER worn by the Tom Riddle, it seems to be slightly Darker than the ones used for the regular Hogwarts Students in the first 2 Harry Potter movies,: Dark Grey.

The Color Bands so far is only seen on the V-Collar of the Sweater and is in GREEN-SILVER-GREEN sequence. This Sweater is probably worn by all Male Students, regardless of which house they belong to (REASON: Myrtle is from Ravenclaw or Hufflepuff and yet her Tie is Green & Silver too). For now, it's still unknown if the Color Bands is found around the Cuff (aka PoA Style) or Bottom of Sweater, OR the Sweater is actually a Vest (unlikely as Vest is not introduced into the Harry Potter Movies until HARRY POTTER AND THE GOBLET OF FIRE).

Tom Riddle is also seen wearing a Grey COAT of a typical Tailored Men's Suit Coat style with 2-4 Buttons on the front.

As for the PANTS, they seems to be (Dark) Grey in color, similar to the ones used for the Students in SS/CoS and of the typical Men's Pant Style.

[C] ACCESSORIES

The students of Tom Riddle era wore a common TIE regardless of which house they belong to. It is a Green Tie with 2 Silver Bars of probably 4.5mm width.

The SHOES worn by the Male Students, they seems to be a typical Men's Formal Lace-Up Shoes, with 5 Shoe Lace Holes and slight heel. Grey STOCKINGS is also seen worn on the Male Student's Feet.

Tom Riddle is a Head Boy/Prefect when he was studying at Hogwarts. Thus, Tom wore a Slytherin (Green & Bronze/Silver?) Head Boy or Prefect Badge on his Right Robe Collar.
