Back in March 2003, a fellow Cosplayer, Kurama did an Arwen Dress based on an illustration by George Ziel for a local Cosplay Event, Takashimaya Cosplay Extravaganza 2003.

    

        This inspired me to recreate another Lord Of The Rings Outfit based on illustration so I go about surfing the internet and browsing several Lord Of The Rings Books, looking at all Lord Of The Rings Illustration available for inspiration.

        That was when I came across the beautiful illustration of Galadriel at The Council Of Elrond Illustration Gallery done by John Howe, one of the most famous and prominent Lord Of The Rings Illustrator, for HarperCollin Publishers' The 1991 Tolkien Calendars.

        His Life-Caught-In-Action Illustration had been used as the Cover Arts for numerous Lord Of The Rings Books and Calendars, from Novels to The History of Middle-Earth Books; that Peter Jackson and company themselves employed him (and Alan Lee, another famous & prominent Official Lord Of The Rings Illustrator) to be the Concept Artists for the Lord Of The Rings Movies Trilogy.
        Why I had chosen this dress is partially due to the color and its simple design as Galadriel is always seen in White (or in Real Life, Ivory) so I'll like to do her in a different look. Moreover, no one in Singapore had ever done an Official Galadriel Dress before so I'll like to change that fact. The Lavender/Lilac color of this dress also kind of attracted me to make it a reality.
